Kole Intellectual Forum, is a community – led organization, deeply rooted in the post rural area of Northern Uganda; and its aim is boardly to contribute towards the post conflict reconstuction of the region; but, specifically, after need assesesment in one of the district: Kole district in 2015/2016, the finding revealed that, there is an urgent need to address the poor performance of the majority of the children of ordinary people affected by war and at present linguishing in public schools within this area.
Kole Intellectual Forum is since then (2016); observed that, other than thinking about difficult situations like: building classrooms, building teachers’ quarters, providing teachers’ incentives, etc; to them, to address this problem, cost effectively, there is need to re-organize the mindset of these communities of this area positively, to make them embrace the value of education; that is, promoting quality and sustainable education; and, to engage them into creative capacity building; so that, they can be able to support this program.
A pilot project for this concept is being tested at Apedi and Angic public primary schools; that were the schools ranked among the worst performing schools within Kole district, Northen Region and the entire country of Uganda, from 2016 to date. Following the result, the concept has proved worth implementation, and the is need to scale it up; that is, when Kole Intellectual Forum is seeking for partnership from Feed the Future, so that, they can be able to accomplish its program of creative capacity building to the community of this area. To contribute towards post conflict reconstruction of Northern Uganda through, coordinate action research, modern telecommunication system and entrepreneurship skills.
